Student Grievance

Bridgerland Technical College simulates ideal on-the-job working conditions and provides an atmosphere where respect for all individuals exists. The college has established fair and equitable standards to assist students in achieving employment readiness that are consistently applied to all students within each program.

A grievance may be a real or imagined complaint over any treatment believed to be wrong or unfair. A student who feels they have been dealt with unjustly by college administration, instructors, staff, or by other students, may appropriately bring their concerns to the attention of the person(s) involved in a friendly, relaxed and unofficial manner. If attempts to resolve a complaint easily are unsuccessful, it may be appropriate to take a more formal approach and officially bring the grievance to the attention of the college administration.

Acceptable means for expressing a student grievance are outlined in the Student Grievance policy (600.608).

Students who have complaints against the college relating to fraud, false advertising, or other deceptive practices can file a complaint with the Utah Division of Consumer Protection, 160 East 300 South, 2nd Floor, Salt Lake City, UT 84111, Telephone No. 801-530-6601, Toll-Free in Utah at 1-800-721-SAFE or online at www.dcp.utah.gov. In addition, students involved with distance and correspondence education can file a complaint with their state’s enforcement authority.
