Tuition and fees

2023-2024
Certificate Seeker Programs - $95 per credit hour

Tuition is established by the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE) and is based on a per-credit-hour fee. Students enrolling in certificate-seeking programs are charged only for the courses they have registered for that are associated with each course or program of enrollment. Fees may be instituted to cover the direct costs of the program and often include materials that cannot be purchased by individual students or for which bulk purchases reduce the cost to the student.

Tuition and fee charges vary according to program. Individual program pages contain estimates for total tuition and fee charges, as well as other costs as applicable. Find the educational program pages here: https://btech.edu/programs/

In-state high school students do not pay tuition.

Additional fees may be charged as follows:

Re-Enrollment Fee - $25. This fee is assessed to students for each program when enrolling or re-enrolling without a Leave of Absence. This fee does not apply to defined courses or high school students.

Schedule change fee - $10. This is to be assessed for any student-initiated schedule changes excluding leave of absence.

Duplicate student identification cards - $3. Certain programs require identification cards. Should a student lose their card, this charge will be assessed when the replacement card is issued.

Books, course materials, supplies & equipment

In addition to tuition and fee charges, students may be required to purchase books, course materials, supplies and equipment, in order to successfully complete their program. Estimates for these expenses may be found on individual program pages and as a printable report available at my.btech.edu/ICS/Learn_More/. Navigate to Books and Supplies – by Certificate, select the certificate, enter the year, and generate the report. Required and recommended textbooks and supplemental materials for each course are listed, including, title, author, ISBN (International Standard Book Number), publisher, and price.

Other costs of attendance (budget)

The cost of attending school goes beyond charges owed to the college. Other educational expenses a student should prepare for include such things as transportation, miscellaneous personal expenses, living expenses, dependent care, disability related expenses, and costs associated with professional licensure, certification, or a first professional credential. Each cost of attendance element is defined by law and is outlined in college policy 770 Cost of Attendance.

Annually the college prepares a cost of attendance budget which estimates a student's expenses. More information about how the budget is determined and disclosed is discussed in the college's cost of attendance policy. In addition, see consumer information item Cost of Attendance, as disclosed on the college's Consumer Information webpage. The current budget is available here: 23-24 Cost of Attendance/Budget. Costs are also published on each program page.
