Cosmetology Application Procedure for Instructor Training Certificates:

Candidates interested in the Cosmetology Instructor certificates will be considered for entry after completion/graduation from Cosmetology, Esthetics or Nail technician, after six months verified employment in a salon/spa and after the submission of a resume that includes three letters of recommendation: one employer recommend, one academic recommend from their Cosmetology or Esthetics or Nail technician instructor, and one character recommendation.

Candidate must also submit a copy of their current Cosmetology, Esthetics or Nail Technician license — current license must represent the instructor training that candidate is interested in for enrollment. After all items have been submitted, the candidate will be scheduled for a committee interview. The committee will be comprised of not less than three department instructors and two other individuals from either the private sector or from other departments at Bridgerland Technical College. Candidates who score 90 percent or better will be given a start date.

Candidates who start the instructor training certificate(s) will sign an agreement contract that will specify expectations.
