Intro to Web Development (Pre Admission Course)

Description

This course will introduce potential students to all aspects of web development. Students will learn how the internet works, the roles of the server and the personal computer, what an IDE is and how it is used, front-end and back-end development, and the various parts of a web page and how they work together.
 
Students must attend an orientation at 8:30 am in room 1829 on the first class.

Course Objectives:
• Explain the difference between front-end and back-end development
• Use an IDE to design a rudimentary web site
• Discuss the steps in debugging code
• Explain the different parts of a web site and how they work together
• Evaluate web development as a potential career field

 

Students must attend 15 hours per week.
Open Lab Availability:
Mon - Thurs, 8 am - 9 pm.
Friday, 8 am - 4 pm.

Individuals are responsible for canceling their registration should they not be able to attend. Refunds will not be issued for non-attendance. Cancellations received before the first day of class will receive a 100% refund. No refunds, in whole or in part, will be given on or after the first day of class.
