Hearing their praises and witnessing their pursuit of further education inspired her to enroll. The flexibility of BTECH’s schedule and its hands-on approach resonated with Amy, allowing her to learn efficiently, particularly in her role as a PLC technician. Currently employed as a line mechanic, Amy seized the chance to enhance her skills by enrolling in courses at BTECH. Despite initial doubts and being one of the few women in her class, Amy found unwavering support from both teachers and fellow students. Their encouragement fueled her determination, proving that with perseverance and a supportive community, anything is achievable. Amy aims to inspire other women to pursue careers in male-dominated fields, driven by the satisfaction of crossing off each course completed and the feeling of accomplishment that follows. With dedicated instructors and a welcoming environment, BTECH has become a stepping stone towards Amy’s bright future.

Whether it’s hitting the slopes, riding horses, or enjoying a game of volleyball or soccer, she’s always soaking up every moment outdoors with friends. And if there’s a chance for hiking or climbing, count her in!

One thing that truly lights Barbara up is making others smile and laugh. There’s nothing quite like the joy of seeing someone else happy because of a connection she’s made. Ger lifelong love of animals led her to pursue their dreams in Animal Sciences at Bridgerland Technical College, where she found their quick path to success.

Her ultimate goal? To own an animal refuge, providing a safe haven for creatures big and small. After graduation, she plans to dive into the world of animal care, starting with a job at a clinic where she can expand her skills and knowledge. Because life’s too short to not chase your passions every single day! Barbara feels like she owes a huge debt of gratitude to their dad, whose love for his work on the ranch inspired her to find a career that feels more like a favorite hobby. And let me tell you, trimming an owl’s talons and beak at Utah Zoo was an experience she’ll never forget!
