Tana Lyman: Platinum Performer for Practical Nursing

Meet Tana, a passionate nursing student who loves spending time with her husband. Whether they’re skiing, hiking, reading, watching movies, or attending concerts, Tana enjoys every moment with her best friend. She also has an adventurous goal to step foot on all seven continents—three down, four to go!

Tana chose Bridgerland Technical College for its top-rated Practical Nursing program, affordable tuition, and the ability to stay in Cache Valley while earning her degree. Recommendations from a former coworker and the school’s impressive reputation solidified her decision. She has felt incredibly supported throughout her journey at BTECH, and the Lawson Nursing Scholars Program Scholarship has been a highlight, lifting a financial burden and affirming her choice of profession.

Determined to make a significant impact in her patients’ lives, Tana aims to go above and beyond the basic duties of a nurse. Inspired by the compassionate care her brother received during a severe illness, she aspires to be like those nurses who made a difficult situation bearable. Tana dreams of combining her passions for travel and nursing by joining an organization like “Doctors Without Borders” and plans to continue her education to achieve her RN, BSN, and possibly MSN.

Her advice to future nursing students: Be teachable and adaptable. Nursing is a field of continual learning and adjustment, so staying humble and flexible is key. Reflecting on her experience, Tana appreciates the supportive faculty, affordable tuition, and accessible resources at BTECH, which have made learning a priority. Join us in celebrating Tana Lyman, our Practical Nursing Platinum Performer!
