Notice of Proposed Tuition Increase

Bridgerland Technical College, in compliance with §53B-7-101.5, Utah Code Annotated 1953, Proposed tuition increases – Notice – Hearings, is hereby providing notice of a proposed tuition increase and Public Hearing on the proposed increase.

Public Hearing

Wednesday, March 28, 2019, 3 p.m., Boardroom

Bridgerland Technical College

1301 North 600 West

Logan, UT 84321

This proposed tuition increase is being recommended by Bridgerland Technical College. As a result, the amount of tuition for a resident membership hour would increase to $2.00 from the current flat rate of $1.95 per membership hour, which is a 2.5% increase.

This is an increase of $.05 per membership hour, which equates to $75 for the school year, assuming enrollment in a 1,500-hour program, or $45 in a 900-hour program. With the increased tuition rate, Bridgerland will increase its tuition revenues from approximately $1,523,600 budgeted for the current school year to approximately $1,562,700 for the upcoming school year. This equates to an estimated increase of $39,100 assuming level enrollment patterns.

Bridgerland Technical College has maintained a long-standing practice of directing all tuition and fee revenue collected from students toward covering direct instructional costs within the program in which the student is enrolled. All additional tuition generated by this proposed increase will be expended in that same way or for technology upgrades.

All concerned students and citizens are invited to attend this Public Hearing on the proposed increase, which will become effective July 1, 2019.
