Bridgerland Technical College June Graduation Celebration

Bridgerland Technical College held graduation ceremonies on June 1st and 2nd at the Logan Campus – West and again on June 3rd at the Brigham City Branch Campus. Programs were assigned times for their graduates to walk across the room and receive diplomas and recognition from faculty and administration. It was clear how much this moment meant to students and their families from the smiles and cheers from all in attendance.

After students received their diplomas, they participated in the tassel toss as a representation of their educational accomplishment. Once finished with the ceremony, family and friends were able to get pictures with their graduates.

This moment was not only meaningful for graduates, but for everyone at Bridgerland Technical College. We feel honored to have been a crucial part in the future careers of program graduates! We wish each of them luck and look forward to seeing their continued success!

Fashion Merchandising and Development Show a Huge Success

The spring fashion show, presented by the Fashion Merchandising and Development program, was called, “SALVAGED… a sustainable fashion show.” Students of the program were given the challenge to focus on recycling, reusing, and repurposing existing items by taking something old and turning it into something amazing!

We are grateful for the many vendors who participated to make this show happen.

Refreshments were provided by Off Premise Catering

Sound and light for the fashion show provided by Reeverb Entertainment.

PureLight Photos by Robin was there to capture the amazing exhibit pieces for the show.

Mikhail’s favorite thing about the program has been making friends. He also appreciates his instructors and the example they set.

Mikhail’s instructors commented that Mikhail, “has made a positive influence in the shop and classroom. He gets along well with instructors and other students. He tries to be friends with everyone and is often found helping other students. He has a desire to learn and to be the best he can.”

Jessica Broadhead Platinum Performer for Media Design

Jessica Broadhead was recently chosen as the Platinum Performer for Media Design! Jessica’s hobbies include reading, writing, graphic design, yoga, and taking her dog for long walks.

She is currently a story teller at Logan Library where she uses her Media Design skills in creating READ posters, helping with brochures, and designing for the library’s social media accounts.

Jessica chose Bridgerland Technical College because she has a few friends who did the Media Design program. She saw the things they were creating and wanted to do something similar. Her favorite aspects of the program were the final projects because of the creativity and skill set they provided. Jessica loved the flexible schedule of the program because she was able to work during the day, then complete her schooling at night.

Of her instructors, Jessica commented, “I would like to give a shout out to my amazing instructors. They were so helpful and supportive, and it really made this a great experience for me.” We’re glad Jessica had such a good experience, and we wish her luck in the future!

Julia Call – Platinum Performer for Culinary Arts

The Platinum Performer chosen for the Culinary Arts program is Julia Call. She is from Ogden and has loved to cook ever since she was very young. Something unique about her is she participated in a culinary competition featured on CW30 and got third place. Her favorite part about cooking is the artistic side of balancing flavors and textures to create a piece of art.

Julia chose to enroll at Bridgerland Technical College because it felt like the right fit for her. She is a hands-on learner and has always loved cooking, so she decided to come and earn a certificate.

Some advice Julia has for future students of the program is they need to be in the kitchen, cooking, learning, experimenting, and using their creativity. Students also need to be able to accept and adapt to constructive criticism.

After graduation, Julia plans to move to the Salt Lake area where she hopes to gain employment working at a high-end restaurant that focuses on sustainability and making food from scratch.
