Influencing without Authority (May) - Custom Fit

Coworkers collaborating at desks in an open office with computers and shared workspace.

Class Description

Too often we hear employees complain about a toxic workplace culture, an untrustworthy leader, an unpleasant work environment. And these complaints are immediately followed by statements like “But I’m not in a leadership position (or that’s the responsibility of another team), so I guess there’s nothing I can do about it.”

Is that really the case?

While influencing a team’s culture and environment may be easier from a position of authority, an individual employee is never helpless and without influence!

This class is designed to teach participants how to harness the personal power of influence in their workplace and environment. If you don’t like it, let’s learn tools to change it!

In this class, we will:

  • Learn different models that drive influence within organizations
  • Identify our personal influence style and strengths
  • Discuss strategies to build credibility and trust intentionally in our relationships
  • Examine how to use structured persuasion frameworks to change difficult interactions and situations
  • Discuss how to communicate and influence up, across, and down effectively in our organizations

Books & Supplies: Any required books, software, or materials will be communicated prior to the start of training.
