Class Description

Lean 101- 1-Day Lean Training: Lean 101 is an introductory course for your business workforce overviewing the processes and practices that are known as Lean Tools. This class includes an interactive hands-on simulation designed to convey Lean concepts and benefits in an appealing, informative, and entertaining format. Participants acquire a foundational understanding of Lean manufacturing and are trained to begin using basic Lean tools, such as lean manufacturing, 5S and visual controls, value streams, kaizen, pull manufacturing (pull kanban), standard work, quick changeover/SMED, visual management process, and performance metrics. These tools will help educate the team on processes to effect transformation in your business immediately.

Objectives and Outcomes: This 8-hour course engages participants in a simulated factory where roles and responsibilities are defined and put into practice. Then participants are encouraged to problem-solve using the Lean principles taught. Throughout the day the team continues to improve quality and efficiency by putting into practice Lean concepts and tools. Ultimately, students apply the knowledge gained to their actual job functions to create a great ROI for their companies.

Books & Supplies: Any required books, software, or materials will be communicated prior to the start of training.
