Basic Mastercam is for machinists who have little to no Cad/Cam experience. We will start with the basics and move through everything you need to know to be a functioning, basic programmer by the end of the class.

Workspace Setup:
• customizing your workspace
• Screen and View settings
• Default settings
• File importing and saving
• Stock Setup and tool library selection
• Machine Selection

Geometry Creation:
• all 2D geometry creation functions
• drawing in both X-Y and D-Z planes
• all Transform Functions
• all wire frame trimming functions
• Colors and geometry styles
• Mastercam hot keys and quick masks

Toolpath Creation:
• all 2D mill and lathe toolpath applications
• wire frame and solid Chaining options
• tool selection and definition
• Basic speeds and feeds
• general mill and lathe programming basics
• posting toolpaths
• Brief introduction into G+M code

Class content may be adjusted to the specific needs of the students. If there are
machines or toolpaths that need to be covered, I will try to work them into the class
wherever possible.
