Bridgerland Technical College
Attendance
The college provides “hands-on” training in a simulated work environment. Regular attendance is as important as showing up for work every day. The college expects the same performance standards as an employer would; therefore, maintaining acceptable punctuality and attendance standards is part of the training process.
Students must maintain attendance standards as determined by their program of enrollment or as defined by federal financial aid eligibility requirements. Sponsors, scholarships, and veteran benefits may also influence a student’s attendance requirement. Students enrolled in programs whose standards exceed school policy, or students receiving financial support dictating certain standards - must adhere to the higher standard. Students must notify their instructor of any intended absence. Excessive absences may result in termination of enrollment.
For more information regarding the colleges attendance requirement, see policy 600.603 Academic Rights and Responsibilities. Program specific criteria may be outlined on our program pages found here. Students receiving federal student aid must meet standards that are at least as strict as those outlined by the school. See Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy, 700.703, for more information.
