Introduction to Digital Design
Digital Design Fundamentals
This 30-hour course is required for students entering the Digital Design program as certificate-seeking students. The course introduces the fundamentals of media design and prepares students for success in the Digital Design program.
Students will learn foundational concepts including basic media design terminology, typography, imagery, color theory, design techniques, and Internet technologies. The course also explores career options in media design and outlines the procedures and expectations of the Digital Design certificate pathway.
- Understand basic design principles
- Define common typographic terms
- Select appropriate typefaces for design projects
- Identify effective imagery and imagery sources
- Define basic image terminology
- Understand foundational color theory
- Identify the impact of color in design
- Demonstrate the ability to use the Internet effectively
- Identify basic web elements
- Outline specific areas within the design industry
- Research and identify design opportunities in your geographical area

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Individuals are responsible for canceling their registration should they not be able to attend. Refunds will not be issued for non-attendance.
