Introduction to Data Analytics(Pre-Admission)
Description
This two-week course introduces students to the role of data analysts and their approach to working with data, with a focus on cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing real-world data using Excel or Google Spreadsheets. The course begins with a computer literacy test to ensure readiness, followed by an orientation and hands-on lecture. Students will work independently on a personal data analysis project throughout the week, culminating in a presentation to peers. Additionally, the course offers guidance on future educational and career opportunities in data analytics. Students who pass the course with 80% (B-) or higher are welcome to enroll in the Data Technology program.

Related associate's degree or higher (from a nationally or regionally accredited institution as approved by the Department Head) or related industry experience (as approved by the Department Head).

Refund Policy
Individuals are responsible for canceling their registration should they not be able to attend. Refunds will not be issued for non-attendance. Cancellations received before the first day of class will receive a 100% refund. No refunds, in whole or in part, will be given on or after the first day of class. (Policy 900.920)

*Students must attend a course orientation from 6 - 8 pm on the first day of the course, then attend on Monday, Wednesday, and the next Monday. The first Monday is orientation and light lecture, Wednesday is a lecture, and Monday is a presentation wrapping up the course. Students have online work as well.
