Sewing Skills Series: How to Read a Pattern
Pattern Reading Basics
If you would like to learn how to read a sewing pattern—or need a refresher on best practices— this class is for you. Participants will learn the fundamentals of understanding and interpreting patterns to confidently plan future sewing projects.
Students will practice selecting appropriate sizes, identifying grainlines, and choosing suitable fabrics based on pattern requirements.
Please bring a pattern you would like to use for a future personal project.

Amelia Zilles was raised in South Central Kentucky and now calls Cache Valley home. She earned a degree in Outdoor Product Design & Development from Utah State University in 2023.
Her professional experience includes working in cut-and-sew shops and design studios in Logan, where she developed strong skills in soft goods design and construction. Amelia values thoughtful design, slow craftsmanship, and enjoys helping others discover the satisfaction of making things by hand.
When she’s not at the sewing machine, Amelia enjoys skiing at Beaver Mountain, spending time on the river, and working on knitting projects.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Individuals are responsible for canceling their registration should they not be able to attend. Refunds will not be issued for non-attendance. Cancellations received before the first day of class will receive a 100% refund. No refunds will be given on or after the first day of class. (Policy 900.920)
