BLS Provider CPR
American Heart Association – Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
This professional-level Basic Life Support (BLS) course is required for students working in healthcare fields such as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Practical Nursing, Dental Assisting, and related programs.
The course covers high-quality CPR skills for adults, children, and infants, with an emphasis on team-based response in professional healthcare settings.
- One- and two-rescuer CPR (adult, child, and infant)
- Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Bag-Valve-Mask (BVM) ventilation
- Two-man CPR and team dynamics
Successful completion results in a two-year Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association.
Hands-on lab participation is required.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose.
Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the American Heart Association.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
Individuals are responsible for canceling their registration should they not be able to attend. Refunds will not be issued for non-attendance. Cancellations received before the first day of class will receive a 100% refund. No refunds will be given on or after the first day of class. (Policy 900.920)
