Introduction to Data Analytics(Pre-Admission)
Data Analytics Foundations
This two-week course introduces students to the role of data analysts and how they work with data. Instruction focuses on cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing real-world data using Excel or Google Spreadsheets.
The course begins with a computer literacy test to ensure readiness, followed by an orientation and hands-on lectures. Students will work independently on a personal data analysis project throughout the course, culminating in a presentation to peers.
Students will also receive guidance on future educational and career opportunities in data analytics.
Students who complete the course with a score of 80% (B-) or higher are eligible to enroll in the Data Technology program.
Students must meet one of the following requirements:
- Related associate’s degree or higher from a nationally or regionally accredited institution (as approved by the Department Head)
- Related industry experience (as approved by the Department Head)

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Individuals are responsible for canceling their registration should they not be able to attend. Refunds will not be issued for non-attendance. Cancellations received before the first day of class will receive a 100% refund. No refunds will be given on or after the first day of class. (Policy 900.920)

The first Monday is orientation and light lecture, Wednesday is a lecture, and Monday is a presentation wrapping up the course. Students have online work as well.
