A student desiring to enter this class should already have a solid understanding of 2D and 3D Mastercam. The first week will focus on the nomenclature of the machine, creation of wireframe and solid models in Mastercam, 2D and 3D tool pathing, fixturing and tool setup, the use of the HAAS wireless intuitive probing system (WIPS) to set tool and work offsets, and how to safely prove out a program. The third and final week will cover 4th axis rotary motion, full 5th axis motion, solid modification, and automated use of the HAAS WIPS system.
