This 4-week course is designed for anyone who’s comfortable with their camera settings and ready to shoot in full manual mode with confidence. Whether you’ve taken my Beginner Photography class or you've learned the basics on your own, this class is your next step toward creating more intentional, eye-catching images.
We’ll go beyond just understanding your camera—we’ll use it as a creative tool to freeze action, create beautiful background blur, and tell stronger stories through light, composition, and perspective.
What You’ll Learn:
A quick refresh on the Exposure Triangle + using histograms
How to freeze motion or create intentional blur with shutter speed
How aperture and lens choice shape depth of field and bokeh
Smart composition, cropping, and changing perspective for storytelling
Weekly hands-on shooting challenges to build real-world skills
Requirements:
A DSLR or mirrorless camera with full manual controls
No smartphones or point-and-shoots—this is a hands-on DSLR-based class
Basic understanding of ISO, aperture, and shutter speed
This class is packed with creative challenges, technical tips, and hands-on learning to help you level up behind the lens.

Refund Policy
Individuals are responsible for canceling their registration should they not be able to attend. Refunds will not be issued for non-attendance. Cancellations received before the first day of class will receive a 100% refund. No refunds, in whole or in part, will be given on or after the first day of class. (Policy 900.920)

With a passion for pushing creative boundaries and over 10 years of experience, Erin captures moments, tells stories, and evokes emotions through captivating images. As a contributor to Photofocus, Erin shares insights and expertise. Having spoken at photography conferences, Erin loves educating and inspiring others about the art of photography.
