Course Objectives
Week 1: (2-hours) Introduction to Leadership and Emotional Intelligence

- Identifying your leadership style and emotional intelligence strengths and weaknesses
Week 2: (2-hours) Developing Leadership Skills
- Effective communication and collaboration in the workplace
- Conflict resolution and problem-solving techniques
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and clients
Week 3: (2-hours) Emotional Intelligence in Practice
- Recognizing and managing your emotions and the emotions of others
- Using emotional intelligence to improve decision-making and critical thinking
- Applying emotional intelligence to leadership situations

Instructor
Jimmy Birman is a dedicated community leader who has made Cache Valley his home for a decade. Throughout his dynamic career, spanning almost two decades, he has demonstrated a commitment to both the private for-profit education sector and the nonprofit sector.
With a marriage of 25 years and four children, Jimmy values family and community. His passion for service is evident in his over three and half years of dedicated service to the United Way of Cache Valley, where he has played a crucial role in supporting and advancing community initiatives.
In addition to his involvement with the United Way, Jimmy has held executive leadership positions in various community organizations, showcasing his commitment to making a positive impact. As the past chair of the Cache Suicide Prevention Coalition and the Cache Interagency Council, he has been at the forefront of efforts to address critical issues affecting the community.
Furthermore, as a Cache Valley Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, Jimmy actively promotes local businesses and fosters connections within the community. His multifaceted involvement demonstrates a keen interest in the holistic well-being and prosperity of Cache Valley.
