IMM Systems
Description
The IMM Systems course provides students with essential skills and knowledge for working with mechanical drive systems and motor control operations. It covers the characteristics and maintenance of mechanical drive systems, including couplers, component identification, system-related calculations, alignment, wear and vibration effects, and component failure detection and prevention. Additionally, students will learn to set up and design motor control circuits, utilize schematics, and troubleshoot and maintain systems.
Competencies:
• Couplers, component identification, and system-related calculations.
• Alignment, wear and vibration effects, and component failure detection and prevention.
• Maintenance, calibration, and repair of power transmission systems and mechanical drives (v-belt, chain,
gear drive).
• Use and application of vibration and alignment measurement instrumentation and techniques.
• Operation, installation, maintenance, and design of motor control circuits.
• Identification and use of commonly used components, devices, and tools in motor control systems.
• Diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical drive components and motor control circuits.
Objectives:
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
• Maintain, calibrate, and repair power transmission systems and mechanical drives.
• Use and apply vibration and alignment measurement instrumentation and techniques.
• Troubleshoot mechanical drive components and systems.
• Operate, install, maintain, and design motor control circuits.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of commonly used components, devices, and tools in motor control
systems.
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of various control systems.
• Apply systems diagnostics and troubleshooting of motor control circuits.
This course is competency-based and self-paced. Once enrolled, the course will be available for 120 days.
