Religious Accommodations & Holiday List

Religious Accommodations

In accordance with Utah Code 53H-7-903 and as outlined in Policy 534, Religious Accommodations, the college is committed to providing an environment that honors religious or conscience belief. This policy establishes requirements to ensure the protection of sincerely held religious or conscience beliefs and provides minimum requirements for the college’s processing or religious accommodation requests.

“Religious accommodation” means taking reasonable steps to modify expectations for a student’s participation in an examination or other academic requirement by excusing participation, offering an alternative deadline or schedule, or offering an alternative examination assignment.

A religious accommodation may include, but is not limited to, rescheduling or providing a make-up exam, rescheduling a student’s in-class presentation, allowing a make-up assignment to substitute for missed class work, changing a course assignment’s due date, or excusing an absence from the course.
