Student Guide
Bridgerland Technical College
Attendance
The college provides “hands-on” training in a simulated work environment.
Regular attendance is as important as showing up for work every day. The college expects the same performance standards as an employer would; therefore, maintaining acceptable punctuality and attendance standards is part of the training process.
Students must maintain attendance standards as determined by their program of enrollment or as defined by federal financial aid eligibility requirements. Sponsors, scholarships, and veteran benefits may also influence a student’s attendance requirement. Students enrolled in programs whose standards exceed school policy, or students receiving financial support dictating certain standards - must adhere to the higher standard. Students must notify their instructor of any intended absence. Excessive absences may result in termination of enrollment.
For more information about the college’s attendance requirement, see Policy 616: Academic Progress (policy page). Program-specific requirements may also apply and are described on individual BTECH program pages. Students who receive federal student aid must meet satisfactory academic progress standards that are at least as strict as those required by the college; for additional details, see Policies 703 and 704: Satisfactory Academic Progress (policy page).
