Description

This USBE-approved course will assist current and future teachers in receiving a Welding Teacher Endorsement. It will focus on welding teaching methods, weld evaluation and assessment, and best practices. To demonstrate competency, teachers must pass written exams focused on the Utah high school welding curriculum and welder certification tests. If needed, arrangements can be made for additional time/practice to pass the tests. 

Students need:

  • Closed Toed Shoes
  • Long-Sleeved Work Shirts
  • Full-Length Pants
  • Pliers
  • Clear Safety Glasses
  • Leather Work Gloves

Refund Policy

Individuals are responsible for canceling their registration should they not be able to attend. Refunds will not be issued for non-attendance. Cancellations received before the first day of class will receive a 100% refund. No refunds, in whole or in part, will be given on or after the first day of class.

Instructor

Jesse Shaffer is the Department Head of the welding department at Bridgerland Technical College. He is a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and has a Master's Degree in Career and Technical Education from Utah State University. Before being an instructor at Bridgerland, Jesse taught high school Ag and Welding.
