Nursing Assistant
Intro
The Nursing Assistant program is designed for students to receive their certification by completing coursework in classroom and clinical settings.
Objectives
- Explain activities of daily living and the nursing assistant scope of practice.
- Demonstrate correct recognition and reporting, communication, infection control, safety, and residents’ rights in the care setting.
- Demonstrate proficiency in all skills required for state certification.
- Perform nursing assistant skills in a healthcare setting.
Students will participate in 24 hours of supervised clinical experience at a long-term care facility. Upon completion of the course requirements, the student will be eligible to take the UNAR skills and written exams for state certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Programmatic Requirements
Students will receive additional pre-enrollment programmatic requirements, if applicable, via email. If you have not received this email within 24 business hours, please check your spam or junk mail folders.
Adult students must be 18 years or older, have a high school diploma or recognized equivalent, and are required to purchase books, uniforms, and supplies. A non-refundable $40 background check fee is required for clinical experience and must be completed within the refund period.
AHA BLS Provider CPR is a prerequisite for this course. Click here for CPR information.

Enrollment/Registration
Once the programmatic requirements have been completed, log onto your my.btech.edu college portal to register online. Full payment or completed financial aid is due at the time of registration.

The Process
Apply for scholarships at https://btech.edu/scholarships (soft deadline (5th of each month).
BTECH emails a link to schedule a Scholarship Interview.
Interview with the Scholarship Committee (generally 3rd Tuesday of each month).
BTECH evaluates the interview rubric and available funds.
Notified of award results within 4 weeks.
The student will receive a link to schedule a meeting to accept the award.
BTECH disburses scholarships.
